The agricultural sector plays a strategic role in supporting national food security. However, a major challenge currently faced is the low participation of Generation Z in agriculture. One of the main causes is the lack of knowledge and skills among Generation Z regarding modern agricultural practices and prospects. To address this challenge, an educational approach is needed to introduce more relevant and appealing forms ofagriculture to Generation Z, such as plant cultivation using hydroponic systems. This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding and basic skills of Generation Z in hydroponic cultivation practices. The implementation method adopts a participatory and educational approach, consisting of several key stages: preparation, implementation (theoretical and practical sessions), evaluation (pre-test, post-test, and practice observation), and follow-up. The results of the paired sample t-test on pre-test and post-test scores indicate a significant improvement in understanding of the hydroponic training material. Practically, participants were able to design simple hydroponic installations and prepare plants. The increase in participants’ knowledge and skills after the training demonstrates that hydroponics is a suitable agricultural method for development among Generation Z. In addition to addressing land limitations, hydroponics also has the potential to serve as an entry point for environmentally friendly entrepreneurship and can support sustainable food security.
